To redye leather , first wipe it with acetone to remove the old dye. wash it fairly soon to remove the acetone. Then from your local cobbler shop get a quality dye in what ever color you desire. (while at the cobbler shop take a minute and talk to the cobbler, when it comes to leather they have forgot more than the average person will ever know). When you dye it be sure to spread the dye evenly and don't be to stingy. after it dries rub it with a quality cream or leather wax to seal the leather.

Don't do it!
If you want that clean sheen to last forever on your leavers (heh, that's a joke, see I should have said "leathers"), buy vinyl. The great thing about leather is that it ages. It shows experience. It is a record of your riding, to those who can read it.
On the other hand, if you are just wearing it into the Hooters, you should probably get a jar of leather dye at the local Big Box and follow the goddamn instructions, poser.

Leather dye. Get it at Wally World or a shoe repair.
If you are dealing with vinyl, you might try a car care procuct calle, "Color Black". It might be slippery, though.

Yes, simple process.

Wipe with alcohol in one direction to clean. Then apply the die, let stand on the surface for 3-5 mins, then wipe off excess.

Let dry.

If another coat is needed then wet with damp cloth of water to open the pours of the leather, then apply color die.
