Decomposition of plastics means its safe disposal and change of state such that it converts into substances nonhazardous to human being and environment friendly.
Research is going on to decompose the plastic as it is becoming a great threat to environmental pollution and human health.
Recently it has been reported in the newspaper that in some of the technical institutions in Delhi a technician has found that some bacteria are decomposing plastic in a drain. It was by way of visual inspection over a period of time, perhaps. The research to confirm this and the identification of that bacteria is under process, most probably.
