Ummm..no. You don't want your bowel to get dependant on constant laxatives. Pretty soon, you won't be able to go without a stimulant. That generally happens to bed ridden usually older people. But a young person who is generally healthy, with no reason to use a laxative daily? No No No. Trust me, you don't want to become dependant on them. Your bowel will be a mess when you are old. You may feel better from the use, but there is no medical evidence anywhere that you will benefit from it. Be very careful, don't use them..

I've done daily warm water enemas in the shower everyday for maybe 5-6 years. Quick as I can which means 10 to sometimes 15 minutes if I want it all out without having to go to toilet later which many times I do have to anyway. I'm a 59 year old man. I was taking a low dose of pain meds daily for a time which made me constipated so I stumbled into the benefit of enema.. have never used anything but plain water from a douche nozzle in the shower. I feel so much better I wonder how everyone doesn't do this at *least once a week. People talk about colon therapy and I laugh because you can do it yourself. I have a on the road kit so I don't go without for more than a few days time. I know of some athletes who do this before competition and it's one of the least talked about "tactics" in sports ;-)

Warning on taking enema daily:
The majority of people should not use enema daily.
Do not use enema daily for longer then 7 - 10 days or you risk getting addicted to enema!
Enema addiction means that you will not be able to naturally empty your rectum without help of enema / laxative.
Using any laxative for longer then 7 - 10 days may cause addiction.
May. Some people were using enema daily for several months, and didn't get addicted. Every person is different, there are no strict rules.
Is there any situation when taking daily enema could be desirable?
Yes, there is!
If you are diagnosed with an advanced stage of Cancer or AIDS or if you contracted some potentially lethal infectious disease like Smallpox, SARS, Flu, Meningitis, Measles, Anthrax, ... or any other serious progressive disease (endangering your life or your future), in that case the last thing you should be worried is getting addicted to enema. In that case, taking daily enema can mean the difference between living and dying. Many people won their battle against cancer and/or AIDS thanks to taking daily enemas for 10, 20 or 50 days in a raw ... In case of cancer, most commonly taken enemas are: coffee enema, wheat grass enema, shark cartilage enema, probiotics enema, enema with herbal extracts, herbal tea enema, vitamin E enema, ozonated oil enema, ...
I am addicted to Enema, what can I do?
If you are already addicted to enema, the only way to overcome addiction is to insure that you have the best bacteria present inside your colon.

Daily enemas are not really recommended.
You could become dependant on them to the point where you will have to take them all the time in order to be able to go to the bathroom. Not good.
If you enjoy enemas then I wouldn't (and don't) take them more than once a week. Several during each session is one thing but don't take them every day.
Also if you take them every day then you will lose the enjoyment you get from taking them.
Good luck.

I take enemas most every day and found I feel generally better less joint pain and lower blood pressure, I dont seem to eat as much when I eat , and my weight to stay more stable, I took them as a kid and started taking them again about 2 yrs ago.

It depends on what type of enema you are doing, if it is a fleet enema or similar, that is not a good idea as it can cause dependency, if you are doing plain water enemas, add some acidophilus (health food store) to the water to replace the friendly bacteria that you are washing away.
Enemas are a great cleansing tool but if you need to do it every day you may want to think about some other options such as drinking aloe, taking extra fiber and increasing your water intake. These steps can help to keep you regular.

Just be careful you don't disturb your electrolyte balance of your body. What do you use for the enema? If it's plain water then drink a little Gator Aid once a day to balance your potassium and sodium levels. I imagine your BP is lower because sodium IS washed out of your system...
What kind of diet do you eat? Your joint pain can be the result of eating meat and dairy. If you cut that out you wouldn't need a daily enema.

If you are talking about the squirt bottle kind that contains an irritant soap, it's not ok. They just make your bowels move by irritating them. If you are talking about a high enema (2 quarts or more), there is no need to do them every day of your life. you can do them every day for 2 weeks and then once a week after that for maintenance and keep the bowel clean.

Ask your doc or a doc that does colon doc. I couldn't even imagine one enema, let alone one every day! Aren't you regular? If not, try pure maple syurp, a few tablespoons every day, or at least 2, that is if cereal don't do it. I mean the pure stuff, not the sugar crap, example Ms. butterworth and junk like that. Pure Maple syurp for constipation, otherwise eat a cereal that is grain based.
