The longer I use it the worse it gets. I have tried mouse pad after mouse pad without mouse pad and about to throw it out of the window and go back to a ball!

There are several things that can be wrong, but start with the simplest!

1. Check the battery.
In both the mouse unit and (in some cases) the receiver unit. If you've owned it for a while this could be the easiest solution!

2. Check your control panel settings. Make sure the mouse isn't set to a long delay.

3. Make sure there is no interference between the signal of the wireless mouse and the box that receives the signal. Clear out the path between the two so that there is unquestionably nothing in the way.

4. Re-install your mouse software and drivers (if it came with one depending on which wireless mouse it is and which version of windows you are running).

5. Go to the manufacturers' website. Once in a while these companies make junk products and they'll let you know about it on their site...whether you need a new software update or whether or not their product is just a piece of garbage.

6. Lastly, if you purchased it recently I would just take it back and exchange it.

Hope your mousey works!

There might be dust where the optical part of the mouse is, use canned air, in the area where the red laser shoots out. That will clean it out, and if that doesn't work as said earlier if it runs on batterys then check batterys and if that fails, its probebly the mouse and I would advise buying a new one. Some of the mice out there are poor quality especially optical no name brands.

Try cleaning the bottom of the mouse with a damped towel or alcohol wipe. If this mouse comes with a driver disc, then you should install the proper device driver for it. Most of the times, is a device driver problem and it can be fixed by install the correct driver for it. Logitech make the best optical devices if you should decide to replace your mouse.

The best option here is to just get a new mouse , When a mouse starts to give problems the best thing is to just get a new one , you can try to take it apart and clean it and see if that helps but it may also be the button that is broken . Get a cheap mouse for you laptop and a decent one for your pc . that way you dont have keep swapping them out . some wireless mouses are realy cheap .

there is "something" under the mouse to hold up a little space for the infra red light, when u turn over ur mouse, and observe it. those little things might have caused u trouble. If it is rubber or something .. it might causes a high frictional force on the surface u're moving ur mouse. hence it cause some "sticky" feeling. try something to reduce the "frictional force" between the mouse and surface would help solve the issue. For infra red mouse, try with a "cloth" mousepad. i mean with cloth on surface, it works best with it.

You don't need a mouse pad for optical "mouses", er, mice?! I use a logitech one, it's great, have had it for five years w/ no problems. Maybe you just got a bad one...

check your mouse cable... think the trouble lies there as for your description. it acts as if your pointer has no control and a slight nudge would show on the monitor as too far off the mark. replace it. thats the best solution, okay?

I had the same problem. Don't use a mouse pad at all.

Is it cordless? Sometimes if the battery is weak it tends to lose tracking.
