Whenever I bring up a subject to my boyfriend, which is about our relationship and what does he think and where does he see our relationship going, he seems to get all uptight and for example, now he has pulled away and told me he needs some time on his own?

Guys don't think like that!
Period.
To a guy, as long as things are going good, they'll stick around. When they're not, they'll leave.
Simple as that.
What you did right there is put pressure on him that a poor male pea brain can't handle. Lighten up, forget about it, act like it never happened.
Things should return to normal.

2. He think he's got better things to do than talk about the future - a family.
3. He's not a family man at all.

oooooopsie !! you broke the unspoken rule..... men are creatures of habit and they have a habit of running from commetment, until they are ready.... and when they are ready they will say so..... speaking in terms of forever, scare the pooh outa guys.... or most guys anyway... not all..... men are creatures of plenty..... they like having and knowing they have the freedom of choice... to choose another mate at any time..... they see no future ahead of its time..... they live day to day..... until they are ready to give in to the call of nature.......
