Sure, if you seem intelligent and serious. Alexander the Great wasn't much older when he "conquered the world" and neither were many other leaders in times past. It would take a lot of convincing, but I'd listen simply to see what kind of 18 year old would want to be mayor.

Of course not! What kind of experience and understanding could you possibly have at that age? Being a mayor of even a small town is extremely stressful. Very few eighteen year olds know anything about dealing with stress and that level of responsibility.
I enlisted into the Marine Corps at eighteen and I can't tell you what an eye opener it was for me. I thought I knew everything at the time, but that changed pretty quickly when faced with the shock of real responsibility and stress.
Anyone who posts that they would vote for an seventeen or eighteen year old mayor is probably around that age themselves. Or younger.

More power to you for taking an interest in politics - not enough young people do!
In all honesty though, I would not vote for a teenager. Whilst you may be intelligent, ethical, politically conscious, you simply would not have the naus or savvy that comes with life experience or the business or financial acumen that is needed for such a role. Your intentions may be good but you would lack the maturity. Simply put, you would get eaten alive.
I salute your ambitions - best of luck for the future

While I wouldn't vote for you now....I consider you too young to be a mayor....I applaud you for your interest in government and thinking seriously about problems. Keep learning and in a few years, you might become elected if you still wish to do so.

As in any election, a Mayoralty race involves issues.
My vote is cast based the issues and how they are going to be addressed by the candidate.
Good Luck BTW

no, I would not vote for someone who is 18. I do not believe they have the ability to act as mayor. I think they would become overwhelmed with the work load and responsibility. What do you know about zoning, budgets, work force, scheduling, time budgeting. Good luck any how.

If I agreed with your stance on local issues, sure. Not prejudiced against youth, but am cautious of your abilities. Do you know enough to do the job?
