It definitely was Not Gene Simmons of KISS.
It was another artist with the same name,

Gene Simmons recorded with Sun records, as did Elvis. He did opening acts for Elvis also. He was a Rockabilly artist.
No relationship to the KISS bassist with the same name.

KISS "Demon" bassist Gene Simmons is very much alive, thank you very much. I loved his "Rock School" project last year ( Katrina failed to mess my following that series) and I espicially love his family documentative project "Family Jewels"!!!
I sadden to think that eventually, Gene and family will tire of the constant video cameras and the "Family Jewel" box will close back into private viewing. Gene's production work on this project far outdoes the MTV project involving Ozzy Osbourne.
And I've come to see that Gene carries a wealth of family taught wisdom in his life he dearly ascribes to....and maybe we all should follow his lead on some facets of his views as well.
Married to Shannon Tweed???? Uh....well......that's a 'gray area' of controversy there.....but for certain, Gene's family is one strongly built on love, class and grace. I hope they don't tire of the video crews anytime soon.
