i have two(2) tabs open,how do i close them?

press ctrl+w to close individual tab. or click file and select close tab option
to close complete window ctrl+shift+w

There will be a box with an X in it on the far screen level with the tabs. Click on it when the tab you want to get rid of is on top.

Left click on tab, click on top right red x

If you are using Mozilla Firefox, just click on the red 'X' in the right hand corner to close both windows.
