First, you have to buy a tool called a pickle fork which is used to seperate the jointsof the suspension to the tie rod. Pull the cotter pin out of the stud of tie rod end, then unscrew the crown nut off the stud, then wedge the pickle fork in to the joint and hit with a hammer to seperate the joint, then count the exposed threads at rhe other end of tie rod and use a pipe wrench to unscrew the threaded end to remove from car. when installing new tierod, make sure you leave the same number of threads exposed as the old one to keep steering straight.. Push other end back into joint and reinstall crown nut and cotterpin. Then get a front end alignment. Are you up for all this? If so, good luck.

if u can't afford a mechanic just take it slow, use it for needed stuff only, till u have enough money, because there is no fix to that , a tie rod needs to be taken to a mechienest, they need to rip apart the block and replace the rod, and maybe the piston too. and sometimes maybe other stuff too, like cylinder sleeve. of u take it to the shop it will cost a LOT, try to find someone who can do it instead for cheaper price!!!! if there's a knock it will ger worse, so ur best bet is to not use it!!!

your car has a stering rack -the inner tie rod is something you need to take to a shop --they have to be done right and the car will have to be aligned -spend a couple dollars more and have it done by a pro -if it isnt right it will come off and then you in deep poo!!

go to the library and rent a mechanics book for that car. It will give you pictures and step by step instructions. Try Chiltons (sp).
