I would go back to the year 1868 at Fort Laramie and the signing of the Treaty of 1868. Chief Red Cloud had the courage to refuse to come in and talk peace with the white man until 3 forts were abandoned. This was a small victory, the closing of the Bozeman trail was still a victory.

Interesting question
took me a while to think about it
I guess I would try to photograph the erection of a great monument like stonehenge or the easter island statues so we can finally understand how they were capable of building them.
Many of these are still a great mistery to us

I think I'd take a picture of the Egyptians building their first pyramid. I'd like to witness how they worked it all out...and see if there was any grumbling in the process...plus I'd get to see a bunch of dark muscular men in tunics, while they work! It conjures up a great image in my mind.

The day they started building the sphynx from the final plans: It would end one mystery and start a more exciting barrage of speculation.

I'd be inclined to take a photograph of the Last Supper, with Christ and all his disciples.

It would answer so many questions, and of course, bring up many, many more.

It would be the one moment in my life when I needed a camera more than any other: on a schoolyard when a flying saucer hovered over us.
