I have read the answers and agree that a Business degree would be more valuable than a Geography degree. A degree in communication would be useful and not a total waste of time, and would probably get you further than a Geography degree because if you know how to communicate than you have advantages over those that do not.
I could see this as a good degree for:
Television, politics, public relations, ect.
I decided to get a degree in Entrepreneurship because I would like to start my own business and avoid the "pitfalls" that cause businesses to fail. Also, I am an older student and feel that there is a ton of discrimination towards the elderly and I would have a difficult time competing with the youth in business, so I would have to start my own company.
I agree that a degree in math would get you far, my economics professor said that one cannot learn enough math, and the more math you learn, the higer wages you will make. He said take as much as you can.
The best subject to get a major in has been traditionally what ever you have an interest in. I know that realistically that does not pay the bills and would advise against this. I work at a hotel and there are a lot of front desk clerks with degrees in Art history.
Go where the future is....technology, business, medical fields, ect. Otherwise, have fun flipping burgers at Mc Donalds.

good question, and I wish I had thought about it more before I jumped into geography. If youre smart, go into engineering. Its a pain in the a to graduate, but the moneys good. Money is also good for pre-med/pre-law, assuming you ever become a doctor or lawyer, but with all the schooling, I dont think its worth it. You want to stay away from the following, because there are minimal jobs available. Psychology/sociology/(really anything that ends in ology) Also, communication and fine arts are looked at like jokes and wastes of time. (they are the easiest majors) Education seems to be everybodys back-up plan, so I wouldnt recommend it. The supply exceeds the demand for teachers, and their pay is relatively low. Heres my advice to you: If you major in something in the business field, you can apply it to anything. Management, accounting, finance. If you walk into a random workplace with a business management degree, you will be more likely hired and promoted over the guy with the degree in geography, because its assumed that you know more about the business aspects of the company. Nursing is another good major. (high demand) Anyways, dont rush into making the decision. It will affect the rest of your life. and if youre going to change your major (most people do) do it quickly so you dont waste time and money for classes you dont need. good luck in whatever you do.

I see you removed your other question regarding DVD piracy. That's a good thing!
I was trying to edit my post to add that it wasn't my intention to say you shouldn't do it. The main point I was trying to get across was to use some common sense and not post questions like that in a public forum...
