My recommendation is to take it slow when it comes to adopting some of the ideas that might come up in answer to this question. Be wary of pursuing a scam.

The least expensive businesses to start are service businesses that have only you as the employee. For example, if you have experience as a graphic artist, you might do some Web or marketing collateral design for clients. Or if you know something about business strategy, you could provide consulting services to those in need. Or if you have a green thumb, you could provide gardening support to people. Over time, through this sort of business, you can build up a large and loyal clientele with a steady income stream -- with minimal downside risk to yourself. Another benefit of a business like this is that you can avoid many of the legal fees associated with incorporating. The organizational form known as a DBA ("doing business as") requires minimal financial outlay and involves limited legal wrangling at the outset.

The best resource for all of this sort of information is the Small Business Administation: www.sba.gov.

This is for people that are serious and who don’t want to be misled as we have tried many things and have found a company that has been around for 21 Years and pays you to advertise for them. My wife and I just started and are doing well. It is not an MLM company and no selling, no deliveries or stocking product. My wife’s aunt has been working with this Company (Melaleuca) for a little over 3 years and home schools 3 kids and makes $9,000 a month. It is a 500 Inc company and the CEO is on the U.S. Chamber of commerce board. I can arrange a web cast with my wife’s aunt for you and you can decide by yourself and WE WILL help you be successful. It is an honest Win Win.
If you want to see a web cast (presentation) from your home let me know and I will arrange it as that truly is the way to see all about Melaleuca. Have you heard of it. We have just gotten started with my wife's aunts help as it is a team effort and it is fun. Just a quick F.Y.I. 8 out of 10 people that see the web cast join the company and 95% of the people that join re-order product each and every month. Let me know when you are ready and we will set up the web cast.

It takes money to start ANY kind of business, even if just to get a business tax license, which is usually $50-100.

You could purchase some lawn care equipment (push mower, weed eater and edger, and start your own lawn care business. But you'll probably need a truck for that too.

Also, be weary of any "get rich quick" schemes. 99.999% of the time they're fake. The other .001% of the time you only make peanuts.

none. Dont fall for the nonsense that the scams out there sell. If you honestly think you can get something for nothing.........go for it, I would be willing to bet you get burnt. Any legitimate company will have an initial start up cost. The good ones will make that cost risk free, with a money back guarantee. They are the ones to look for,and that is only one of the good points I found with the company I work for. BurnLounge--have your own personalized online music store. Invite family, friends or anyone to browse, sample and buy music. I have a store at http://burnlounge.com/mlbliss and I enjoy doing this!!

BurnLounge is a fantastic new deal on the internet! They just started in November 2005 and have grown quite rapidly since. They have music sites now, but will be adding ringtones, movies, DVDs, video games, concert tickets, audio books and other things later.

They also allow new (or old) musicians the opportunity to distribute their music with them and they offer people the opportunity to have their own online music stores. BurnLounge is contracted with the top 4 music marketing labels, which makes everything they have online LEGAL to download.

If you would like more information, please feel free to send me an email and I will do what I can to help you (tonja_myers@yahoo.com or tlm16365@hughes.net).

To confirm their legitimacy:
My site is http://burnlounge.com/mlbliss and you can also research them at http://corp.burnlounge.com and http://help.burnlounge.com
