Look it up in a phone book...under sewing or I'm not sure of another term at the moment but yeah definitely the yellow pages will help...

or google it "sewing classes", "birmingham, al" ...

Sometimes you can find classes at your local fabric shop. Or maybe a 4'H club. Even a local community collage might offer a class?
Try putting an ad in your local paper asking for volunteers or an experianced seemstress. Always check to see if they are safe and legitimate of course.

like that. If you have a JoAnn Fabric
store in your area or a store like that
they may know or offer them at the store.

Our public library gives lots of classes and workshops like that, maybe check out the library...
