I am 34 weeks right now and I had my doctors appt. on wednessday the 30th. I found out that I was 3 cm dilated but the doctor told me not to worry and rest. He said my baby should be here in a week or two. I really don't know what to think. Her head is down by my pelvic bone also.

Being 3 cm your baby can really come at anytime sometimes a week or two the baby will come when ready , Just relax and enjoy the time you have now cause when that baby comes your gonna be so stressed out and tired cause the baby will keep you awake for the first few months, Pediatric nurse work in the N.I.C.U. (neonatal intensive care unit) for 13 years and still doing wouldn't trade it ..

I was in labor for a week and didn't know it so it takes time. I think that you have to be like way past 5cms before you can go into labor. Just be patient. If you are really ready to have the baby try having sex to hurry up the process but more than likely your doctor is right just relax it will happen when it happens. Good luck I suggest an epidural.

It won't be long. Usually, when a person goes into labor, they haven't started dilating and on average it takes about one hour per cm to dilate so you are well on your way. The baby is a little early so may not way a whole lot, but I'm sure will be healthy. Good Luck!

It is possible to be 3-5 cm dilated for 1 or 2 weeks before contractions or labour starts. Relax, rent your favourite movies, invite your best girl friend over and enjoy an evening of uninterrupted you time..... it maybe another 15 years before you get another! Good luck with your delivery.

Yes with my first I was dialated my last two weeks first to two and then three. It still took me a week after that to have her. He said that the fact that I had started early was good because I when I went to the hospital I was almost 5 and they kept me and my vaginal birth was pretty easy as far as the pushing went.

It could be any moment now -or like your doctor advised in a couple of weeks, when it is due @ 36 weeks.
These babies come when they are ready.
Relax and enjoy the last moments you have on your own. Go get a pedicure.

ASHLIE, IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST IT COULD BE A WHILE, USUALLY YOUR DOCTOR KNOWS, BUT WHEN THE BABY IS READY TO COME THEN IT WILL COME. IF YOU WANT IT TO COME YOU COULD DO A LOT OF WALKING OR A NICE WARM BATH WILL HELP. THIS BRINGS BACK MEMORIES AND THERE GOOD ONES. I HAD FOUR KIDS AND THE LAST THREE WERE IN A ROW LIKE 86,87,88 THE LAST ONE WAS BORN SO EASY I HAD VERY LITTLE PAIN. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BABY ASHLIE.

My doctor says that it isnt active labor until you are 4c, and even then, it could hold till you're actually ready to be due.
