Unfortuantely, I think Katrina was a learning experience for us. We just were not prepared for that massive of a storm. I know people will say that we had plenty of warning, but I think the Fedreal governement trusted the state governments to actually spend the money they were getting on the things they were suppose to. Such as repairs on the levees and such.

However, tragic Katrina was we have to learn from the mistakes we made and make sure they do not happen again. As for comparing war to a hurricane, there is none. Our military might has nothing to do with our ability to respond to natural disasters. But, I do wish our governement, Democrats and Republicans alike, would care more about our domestic problems and a little less about out international ones.
