When schools hire racist teachers,...?

...Should they track student's grades to see if teacher is purposefully messing with the grades of whatever student he is racist against? Would that be an infrigment of the teachers rights or comprimising trust?

Schools hire a lot of racists, it isn't uncommon and the teachers might react or try to sue when they are denied a job. Of course, the ignorant shouldn't teach the masses, so I wish schools would. But I guess there's the whole issue of rights of the employees and some of the employers are racist too. One counceler who changed grades of black students to make them higher was fired though. Otherwise, when racism isnt public, they don't do anything about the perpetrator.

The girl in your neighborhood probably has nothing to worry about. I'm talking about the racism that any idiot could see.

I meant any idiot as in any person of any race that honestly assessed the situation could figure out. My own bigoted views on how I'm treated will prevent me from seeing clearly in response to negative feedback. That's why I mention racism that is visible to all.

It should not be done unless there is a good reason to do so.
I have a black friend who cries racism for everything at school. We live in a white community and her kids are very well accepted but she finds problems all the time. YES - we are friends and have been for 10 years. I tell her she is nuts, and she tells me I'm blind...

EDIT - you say racism "that any idiot can see"...my friend sees"something" every week. She really thinks people are against her kids cuz they are black. The middle son was just on Prom Court - not happening if he wasn't so well liked. She still thinks his class is against him for being the only black in that grade, It is NOT so.

I think racist teachers should not be hired if it can possibly be avoided, especially those who will be teaching the race(s) they are racist towards.

If a student (or his/her parents) think they are not being treated fair for whatever reasons (racism, sexism, the teacher disliking the student for personal reasons or whatever) they should be able to talk to the principal and I think the principal should look into it to see if this student is really being treated different and getting lower grades than he/she should be. It's not enough to just look at the grades though, the whole picture must be taken into account. A student getting low grades does not necessarily mean the teacher hates them, the student may really not be doing well enough. Tracking grades alone will not prove/disprove whether the teacher is grading students unfairly.

I think it's best to take care of each case individually and if a teacher is caught discriminating students he/she should be fired.

I don't think that they should track the grades, because alot of students just won't do the work. I know there are racist teaches, I had them myself (one teacher would openly say things aginst white people), but most teaches, even if they are racist, will still give the student the grade the deserve.

I think that too many students call teachers racist just because the teacher yells at them, or gives them a bad grade. Now, I go to a primaly black school, and when a white teacher yells at a black studnet, they call them racist. Racims does happen in schools, too much, but I think that students cry racism too much, and this goesfor all racies.

2. Public School, or private? (it depends, really)
usually in public and private schools alike, there are teacher assesments often, and there are obviously times when a student can tell someone about a problem of racism or whatever
in a private school, they run things a little differently and can just fire people whenever due to whatever reason they feel is just so yeah

well that sounds racist to me . your saying then most of the teachers are white and are racist. if black people were a little smarter and had something better to do than drink 40's all day and wish they were a football star or a rapper , then they too could be teachers and had all the poor little black kids a grade for doing nothing .your a racist pig

Yes this sucks but the kids will someday get out of school and have to go out into the real world. Should a employer fire someone because he has a carpenter who doesn't like a race of people. Should a truck driver not be allowed to work because he dislikes a certain race of people. These kids should be ready to go into the real world.

I really don't know.

I remember a long time ago, I had this teacher who hated me & both of my friends... thing is we were the only Latinas in the class.

She would tell all my other (non Latina) friends things like: Livestrong braclets can't be worn anymore, but she wouldn't tell anyone else. The next day, nobody was wearing Livestrongs but us; we got in trouble for it.

She told kids to GIVE HER NECK MASSAGES, but my friends and I weren't pushovers, and she DIDN'T like us.

Grades are just numbers, the quality of the students work would have to be compared with his peers to see if there was malicious grading so there would have to be an internal teaching affairs organization.

Racism should in no way be tolerated in schools. They should fire a teacher who is racist at school

its hard to track a grade cuz theres participation too and the racism could or could not affect that grade
