okay I hate these stupid problems..HELP PLEASE!! =]
Let's say you are moving. You estimate that you have 75 boxes worth of stuff to move from your old place to the new place, which is about 15 miles away. You've noticed that it takes about 15 minutes to pack a box and two minutes to take it to your car and come back. Boxes weigh about 40 pounds each. Driving between your old and new places takes about 30 minutes (each way). Because you want to put each box where it belongs (kitchen stuff in the kitchen, for example), it takes about three minutes to unload each box. How long will it take you to finish moving?
Make one list of the useless information and another list of useful information.
Try to write the useful information on a relevant part of your diagram. This should help you group related information together.
Make a list of the steps you might need to go through to solve this problem.

This problem doesn’t list how many boxes you can carry in your car in a single run, so I am assuming that you can carry all 75 boxes in one go (Which is a huge number by the way :-) ). Also at unloading time, I assume that 3 minutes also include the time u will take to get box out of the car and take it inside. This assumption is there bcoz this step is not explicitly mentioned as in loading step and we can safely make this assumption
Useful Information:-
1. Number of boxes = 75
2. Time to pack a box and putting it in car = 15+2 i.e. 17 minutes
3. Driving time = 30 minutes
4. Unload time for a box = 3 minutes
Useless information:-
1. Distance between two places (we know that traveling time is 30 minutes and that is enough, distance doesn't matter)
2. Weight of the box. (Time for packing/unpacking is same for all boxes, so there weight is irrelevant)
3. Driving between two places take 30 minutes (each way) (Actually it is important if you are taking multiple trips to take the 75 boxes, but the problem doesn't say that. So for you it's only the time taken from old place to new place that is important)
Now here is the time you shall take in moving
Time to load stuff in boxes and putting those in car = (15+2)x75 = 1275 minutes
Driving time = 30 minutes
Unloading time = 225 minutes
So total time is = 1530 minutes i.e. 25.5 hours
This is the solution is u need in pure mathematics terms
But if it’s a trick, than u will take one minute less in first step bcoz tough u will load 75 boxes, u will come back to pick another box only 74 times. So u might save a minute there.
Best of luck :-o))

based on the information you gave It would be 25 hours. the 15 miles away and 40 pounds are the useless information. make sure you have the whole problem. It did not say how many trips? it looks from the problem that it only took one.
75 boxes at 15 min= 1125 min
75 boxes at 2 min= 150 min
75 boxes at 3 min= 225 min
add the 1125 to 150 to 225 = 1500 min
convert 1500 min into hours. 1500 divided by 60 = 25 hours
good luck with the rest

The weight of the boxes is uselss info. The distance between the two houses is useless info. As for the rest:-
75 boxes x 15 mins for packing
75 boxes x 2 mins to take to car
75 boxes x 3 mins to unload
Add 30 minutes for the travel to new house.
This should give you the sum of the minutes, then divide by 60 to get hours.
This question could also be a trick question as it doens't state how many boxes you can fit in your car and also doesn't state if you are doing more than one trip.
With this information the result should be 25.5 hours.

Useless-distance from new place to old place.
Box Weight
Useful-Time to pack(# of boxes and Time to pack each box)
Time to load in car
Driving time
Unpacking time
# of boxes=75
time to pack each box=15min and 2 to load into car.
so, add 15 min and 2 min=17 min per box.
Mult that by 75= 1275 min
Then add Driving time=30 min
Then 3 min per box to unload=225
Then add everything together=1530 min or 25 and 1/2 hours.
Unless there's a factor of the car's capacity.
Hope this helps.

Unsolvable with information provided:
It takes 17 minutes to pack and load the box into the car.
It takes 3 minutes to unload the box.
Now if all 75 boxes can be taken in one load in this "car" (and the information is incomplete for this facet of the question) then it would take 25 hours and 30 minutes to load and move the boxes in ONE trip if he doesn't have to return to the former location to clean up the old place.

Heres the solution to the whole problem. Buy a sasquatch and order it to eat the homework. Make sure you name it bob because its homeland was Bobaina. Useful information in the solution would be where to buy one, how much they cost, and how much weight you can fit on your veicle. The useless information in the solution would be naming it bob. the name doesnt affect it. Once you get this sorted out, go to school and tell your teacher that your sasquatch ate it. If they don't believe you, show them the sasquatch. If they still don't believe you, show them the feces of the beast. (Try to find the paper) If they STILL don't listen, tell the sasquatch to eat the teacher.....MUHAHAHHAHAHHAHHA. Hope this helps you and good luck!

If something is 40% smaller, you merely subtract 40%. So 40% of 40 energy is 16: you try this through multiplying 40 through 0.4. the answer will be 40 - 16 = 24 A shorter way would merely be to multiply through 40 through 0.6, in view that it really is a million-0.4.
