We were messing around with vaccuum tubes and reading flash gordon comics. We were also messing around with the radio as the radio during its heyday was more popular than the internet and the bible combined.

They were train spotters - steam trains of course. Before that they were hunter/gatherers. An ancient Greek device has just been discovered with wheels and cogs which seems to be an early computing device for calculating distance to planets - though not of course poor little Pluto. Jacquard invented a punch-card system for weaving in 1805. How far do you want to go back?

Geeks sat around and invented computers, lol. But, I think that the word "Geek" is slang for scientist, and there are many forms of scientists who develop all kinds of things. example: A scientist develops a cure for cancer would he not be considered, a "medical geek"?

They all dressed up as Spock and met at Star Trek conventions, posted bulletins on the Science Club's bulletin board for Super Mario play-offs in somebody's mom's basement on Thursday nights, and got their finger stuck in chewing gum under the table at the library while they were bragging to somebody about their I.Q.
Just Joking, but they probably did go to the library a lot, and read their parents' magazines and newspapers.
