THANX...I DIDNT KNOW THIS.....BUT AM SHOCKED!!HOW CAN HE DO THIS!!!!MAY BE ONE OF REASONS THAT HE'S NOT IN ANY PARTY TODAY.....OUT OF INDIAN POLITICS.....
BUT I DON'T AGREE WITH SOME OF ANSWERS HERE......
YES HE'S A DIFFERENT PERSON ANS AS N INDIVIDUAL HE HAS THE RIGHT........BUT HOW CAN HE THEN BENIFIT FROM HIS GRANDFATHER'S NAME........I HAVE HEARD THAT HE SOLD SOME COMPANY IN AMERICA OR SOMEWHERE HIS GRANDFATHER'S i.e MAHATMA GANDHI'S NAME TO BE USED BY THEM FOR SOME PROMOTION. AND GOT A HUGE SUM AS ROYALTY.....
IF HE IS AN IN\DIVIDUAL......HE SHOULD MAKE HIS OWN LIVING......ON HIS OWN.....WHY USE GANDHI JI'S NAME AND STATURE????.......HE'S CALLED ON CHAT SHOWS ,COZ HE IS GRANDSON OF GANDHI.....NOT COZ HE'S TUSHAR GANDHI......DOES ANYONE EVEN KNOW HIS QUALIFICATIONS????WE ONLY KNOW THAT HE IS GANDHIJI'S GRANDSON............
AND AS AN INDIAN......LIKE IN INDIA WE BELIEVE OUR PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS AND THEIR HERITAGE.....
HE HAD SOME RESPONSIBILTY TOWARDS INDIA........NOT THAT ANY SOCIAL SERVICE OR HELPING POORS ETC.....WHICH SHOULD BE HIS CHOICE......BUT AS A MARK OF RESPECT OF HIS GRANDFATHER.....HE SHO0ULD'NT HAVE LEFT INDIAN CITIZENSHIP.....JUST A SYMBOLIC JESTURE.....MAY BE HE SHOULD HAVE SETTLED IN AMERICA OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY......BUT REMAINED AN INDIAN CITIZEN......EVEN AN ENTERPRENUER LIKE LUXMI NARAYAN MITTAL......WHYO HAD TO FACE MANY HARDSHIPS COZ OF BEING AN INDIAN....DID'NT GIVE UP HIS INDIAN CITIZENSHIP.....
IF I EVER MEET THAT GUY (TUSHAR GANDHI) I WOULD ASK HIM.....WHY HE BECAME AN AMERICAN CITIZEN....WAS HE ASHAMED OF INDIA OR HIS GRANFATHER!!!

No. You are wrong. This country is no place for such people. This country supports and honours people like Sadhu yadav, Pappu yadav, Shahabuddins, and the like ones. This country is for the sycophants and the muscle men. No good man can live here with dignity and also, he is not given the due respect he deserves. Here, every thing depends on the caste.
Because Mahatma changed the country does not mean that his sons and grandsons do the same. Even if they want to do, they have no place here, since, Gandhian values have died in this country.
Godse killed Mahatma once. But, his so called followers are killing him daily, by going against his policies.

well i begin by saying to each his own.but the only fact in all of this which really is hurting is that if you have a grandfather who is the father of a nation then why do you need to go and settle anywhere else or for that matter america here.all the hardwork and efforts put in by gandhi to make a better nation was directed towards benefitting his fellow patriots as well his family.come on did he know in the future his grandson would not even be living there.how many of us heard abraham lincolns children becoming indian citizens.then again i repeat to each his own....

its an individual's own decision as some body have already said.
if that was the case, then indians should be ashamed of having foreign players as coachers to indian cricket team, foreign woman as a leader for the national developement council, foreign christian priests who get their indian citizen ship for spreading christianity etc..., similarly other countries should be ashamed of the people who were once a citizen of their country and now a citizen of other country.
its not mahatma gandhi who has got US citizen ship, but a person who is a direct relative of mahatma gandhi.

His grandson is an individual and it is his right to be where ever he wants to be. It is unfair to judge him just because he is grandson of Gandhi. Plus USA is a great country as well as India. we cannot blame anyone just because they do not want to follow their grandfather footstep. His son has right to be what he wants to be.

I had no idea until I read your question. Now that I have, I am not impacted at all. If he wants to be an American, that's fine. I'm sure he's a productive, contributing citizen.
