Love the Alton. He's got a sick sense of humor.

To quote Ms Demonica, Rachel Ray can suck a fart out of my...

Actually, some of her recipes are good but I can't stand watching the show. Sure you can make it in 30 minutes if you have a freakin' staff prep everything for you. Oh, but she has a recipe called "Vicky's Favorite Chicken" or something. It's with mustard, cous cous, and grapes. Delicious. The "you won't be single for long vodka cream sauce" is a waste of time.

Oh, and it bugs the crap out of my that almost every time she says "EVOO" she follows it by explaining that it stands for extra virgin olive oil. Why bother shortening it to EVOO if you're just going to say the whole name anyway? You just make it longer.

Alton Brown (born on July 30, 1962 in Los Angeles, California) is the creator and host of the television show Good Eats, a cooking show on the Food Network. He currently lives in Athens, Georgia.

He received his first degree, in Drama, from the University of Georgia. He graduated from the New England Culinary Institute in 1995. Before that he worked in cinematography and film production. In that field, he is probably best known for his work on a music video for R.E.M..

The pilot for Good Eats first aired on the Chicago, Illinois PBS affiliate WTTW in July, 1998. The show was picked up by the Food Network in July, 1999 and as of 2004 new episodes are still airing on that network.

On May 5, 2003 his first book I'm Just Here for the Food won a James Beard Foundation/Kitchenaid Book Award in the Reference category.

He is often described as a combination of Mr. Wizard and Bill Nye because he brings a scientific approach to his cooking shows.

In 2004 Brown appeared on Iron Chef America: Battle of the Masters, the second attempt to adapt the Japanese cooking show Iron Chef to American television. Brown served as the announcer, as a modified version of the role played by Dr. Yukio Hattori in the original show.

Currently Alton Brown is living with his wife DeAnna, daughter Zoey, a hound dog, and an iguana.
