I have been... twice. It's okay if you don't mind sitting around waiting!! The first time, I sat from 8:00am to 2:00pm and was never called. The second time, I was called at about 12:30 and went through the interview process and was eliminated as it was a case involving child molestation and I honestly informed the attorneys (both prosecution and defense) that I was unable to listen to the facts of the case without pre-judging the person or having any bias toward the vermin who was on trial. (He had been accused of multiple offenses on multiple victims). I was abruptly excused by the defense attorney.

Make sure that you bring some reading material or something to keep you busy and awake (they totally frown upon falling asleep in the potential jury waiting area!!).

I've been called 3 times, was dismissed before ever seeing the courtroom 2 times and the third, I was an alternate for a trial. It was a hung jury... wish I'd been in there. LOL!

Many times. They say it is your civic duty to serve on a jury trial. Now, if you don't show up for jury duty (you ignore completely) the judge can fine you. Some system huh ?

No big deal, lined up on day 1 & 2 & was then called, & elected a foreman. We walked out again, cursing our luck & writing off the next two weeks & the defendant took one look at us & pleaded guilty. We had a free lunch & were all excused for the next five years. Why, what did you want to know? Don't get into conversation in the hallway unless you know what their reason is for being there! That could be embarrassing, I heard that twice!

I have been multiple times. I've never actually had to serve on a jury though. If you're called and you just don't want to do it, look at the defendant and tell the judge he's guilty. You'll immediately be dismissed.

Me. But there was a blizzard the day of and it was cancelled. You're supposed to have to make it up at a later time, but due to lack of cases it fufilled my duty.

I get called in for it at least once a year... I go there, sit in a room with a bunch of other poor unfortunate souls that got called, and wait... sometimes for hours. Then they come in and say You can go now, defendant plead guilty.

it's like.. thanks for the 10 cents a mile!
