ATM machines usually give out money in notes eg. $10, $50, and $100 ... and there is an option for you to withdraw other sum of money, eg. $40, which will give you two $20 notes.

What if I entered $21 to withdraw, will the ATM round it up and give me only $20 ?

Most ATMs will inform you that you need to select an amount in multiples of x, where x is the lowest bill supported by the machine.

All are different, but most only go as low as $10 bills. If you enter $21 it will ask you to try again.

No, it will tell you to withdraw amounts of $10's, or $20's
