just stop using it, i don't think there's any way of deleting or uninstalling it.
install Firefox or whatever other browser you prefer, and make it the default browser.

Unfortunately, Microsoft has made it so that many programs use the Internet Explorer core, and thus you can't really delete it from your machine. However, there is hope!
1) Download and install Firefox (hands-down the best browser out there!)
http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
2) After the installation, when prompted, import all of your IE favorites (bookmarks) and settings.
3) When prompted, also allow Firefox to become your "Default Browser" and allow it to check to make sure it remains that way.
After you've gotten comfortable with Firefox (the tabs are my favorite feature), you may want to check out some of the add-ons available for the browser. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/
There are some you must have because a lot of websites use them (like flash player and java), and there are some you must have just because they're freaking cool (like automatic weather updates on the bottom-bar of your browser, or a Gmail e-mail notifier)!!!
Once you get over the initial change, you'll never understand how you lived with stinky ol' explorer for so long! ;-)
P.S. There is another add-on that will let you open ANY page that requires Internet Explorer from within Firefox. It's called IE Tab, and you can even do your Windows Updates through it. Just an FYI.

Well
Internet explorer
Is One of the Windows Program
without it the windows will be Missing Files
and Then you have to Reinstall it again
just do like i do now
i Install a browser different Than Internet explorer
I am using Mozilla Firefox
But Guess what
Internet explorer has some Good benefit you won't find it in another browser
so My Advice is
Just Install what you want to
and Keep Internet explorer to whenever you need it
because some sites you will go to only Internet explorer can work with it
anyway take care and i hope my words make sense

As dumb as this may sound you should really consider giving Internet Explorer 7 RC1 a look at. I hated IE6 but IE7 is much improved. If you still decide to switch try Opera. Also I would like to point out there are many browsers built on IE that provide the features that you would find in Firefox or Opera such as Maxthon and Avant Browser.

To use another browser you need not remove Internet Explorer, as a matter of fact with Windows XP you cannot really un-install IE (there is an option under Add/Remove Programs - Add/Remove Windows Components) as IE is the browser for browsing windows as well. You may like to select your new browser as the default and un-check the option for IE to check if it is default every time it starts (Tools - Internet Options - Programs - un-check the Box "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser." on the bottom).

Just stop using it. When you open another explorer they will ask to default it. When u select yes all you do is use it and not worry about Internet explorer. Just in case you have a problem you can always get back to the original :)

You cannot delete Internet Explorer from your PC since it comes with Windows Operating system. You can however install other browsers and work it as if Internet exlorer is absent . ( Make sure you set the other browser as the default one). You can try working with Mozilla FireFox browser, one of the best browsers available now with tabbed browsing .. :)

There is no way you can uninstall Windows components. You can just use another browser, nothing wrong will happen if you use another browser: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
or download the new Internet explorer version: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx :)
