Nothing wrong with it, necessarily. But, the guy cheerleaders I knew in college were gay.
And, to the guy two spots above - the insult is that when people call something "gay" they usually mean "stupid". Would you like it if "white" or "Christian" were synonymous with "stupid". I.E. -
Who thinks that Bush being a cheerleader is the Christianest thing ever?
