What kind of information we can obtain from a DNA sequence using Bioinformatics?

Where the sequence is located on a chromosome, and which one.
Which in turn could give us a clue as to what it might do,...
Also we can find homologous sequences from other animals,...
Which in turn could tell us what the sequence might do (if we know waht the other sequence does). All sorts of other cool things too, but too much to type.
