"every child is different", I stopped my oldest at 1, my twins before 1, and my youngest, 3, still needs lotion. I've read that babies born in winter months have drier skin than warmer month babies., if that helps. i say taper it. take one day away for three weeks, then other day for three, and so on, and so on. that will give the skin time to adjust. good luck

Ditto for madpassion, doesn't matter age, race or sex all skin should be lotioned on a daily basis to keep it soft and nice. You could also use a body wash with moisteriser like the new Dove or Olay quench.

i think you should continue to apply lotion to her skin daily after a bath, if she has dry skin.
of course, some areas should be off limits now that she's two.
you could also simply switch her to a moisturizing body wash.

Stop lotioning her down when she is old enough to do it herself. Everyone should apply lotion daily regardless of race or age.

Michael Jackson recommends stopping when the kid is old enough to testify.

That's what I heard, anyway.
