Ferris Bueller, Ghostbusters, Gremlins, Monster squad, The goonies. There are so many movies from then that were awesome a t the time. Like the first terminator and terminator two. How about Tremors, Rain man, Top gun, Days of thunder. The list could go on forever. I'm feeling all nostalgic now.

Back to the Future, Weird Science, Ferris Beullers Day Off, Highlander, Rocky, Terminator, Karate Kid (only the first one), Blood Sport, Kickboxer, He-Man, the Goonies, Beverly Hills Cop. Plus a few others.
I think movies were better back then.

Here's a list of my all time-favourites from that era, in no particular order
1) When Harry Met Sally - watch this one for everything that you need to know about love and relationships.
2) Life of Brian - I think this was from the late '70s, but for me it is one of the funniest movies ever!
3) Gandhi - Attenborough served to portray Gandhi as a great man, but with flaws. I watch this movie recently and was amazed that such a man lived and inspired 350 million Indians to stand up against the British Empire , but IN A NON-VIOLENT way. Mahatma Gandhi inspired Martin Luther King, the father of the civil rights movement in the US. If only we had a such a man amongst us now. But I digress.
4) Tootsie
5) Alien and Alien 2 - Ripley Rocks!
6) The Terminator
7) Ferris Bueller's Day Off
8) Jerry Maguire - This is the only movie of Tom Cruise that I have liked ever.
9) Blade Runner - my favourite sci-fi movie of all time.
10) Schindler's List
11) The return of Martin Guerre - Gerard Depardieu is the world's best actor.

I like most of all those previously mentioned. A couple that I like that I have not seen mentioned are:
The Princess Bride ...."Inconceivable!"
No Way Out
Shattered
Dreamscape
And if you count 1994 as still "early 90's" then "The Shawshank Redemption" may be one of the best EVER...what a sham that it lost Best Picture to that excruciatingly long and boring movie "The English Patient".
Also, if you would like a good movie SET in the 80's, try "Grosse Pointe Blank"
