Use the distance formula and plug in x1, x2, y1, y2 where appropriate. Voila!

Distance formula is the square root of the difference of the x-coordinates squared plus the difference of the y-coordinates squared.

so its sqrt( ( x2 - x1 )^2 + ( y2 - y1)^2 )
