My vote would go to Johan Santana. After today's game, he is 16-5 with a 2.95 ERA to go along with a league leading 207 strikeouts.

I think it has to go to Johan. They both face nasty line-ups all the time, but johan is feared by the hitters.

Correction, thought the question was for mvp.
I will go with Garland. Halladay is a better pitcher now than Garland. But Garland may end up winning more games and will probably make the playoffs.

I'm leaning more towards Johan Santana. But, it wouldn't surprise me if Halladay got it.

I'll take Santana, although one month remains in the regular season.
Of all AL starters, he has the best ERA, most strikeouts, least baserunners/nine innings, etc (and he's now tied for most wins. Only a healthy Liriano may one day be better.

Doc Halladay for the Toronto Blue Jays. He has been consistent starter and a slump breaker.
