If you love him it doesn't matter what his legal status is. I don't see the problem except your ignorant, racist, friend.

First how old is your husband? You said you were 15? If he is 5 or more years older, I think, it was wrong. However, that has nothing to due with his immigration status, unless that was his sole reason for courting you. If your status was all he really wanted to marry, leave now. It will get worse, and if he gets legal status, he will probably leave you. Sorry to be so harsh, but you sound very young and naive.

Marrying an immigrant is not anti-American, unless it is done as a political statement. I think your friend knows that. I think she wants to tell you something you don't want to believe or refuse to see. My guess is that she is trying to tell you have made a bad choice, and that you should leave him right away, before things get worse. Since you will not take her suggestion for other reasons, I think she is trying to find something you might believe.

I know it is hard, especially when you are young, but try to listen to her other points and then discuss them with a counselor -- a church, a mental health clinic or the Salvation Army will all provide at least one no cost session.

If you married him before you even knew where he grew up, and are under 18, I think you should definitely get some reliable advice. I know, that is hard to believe, but it is a common problem that often has tragic consequences. Don't become a statistic.

Good luck and God bless.

You mean he was an illegal ailien? You didn't make that clear....

Either way, your friend isn't wright. She isn't even RIGHT. If you married him for the sole purpose of getting him a citizenship, then I'd say you did dis-service to the country. But if the relationship was genuine, then I don't see how anyone can object to it.

Love see no immigration status or whatever. If you really love this guy than you were right in marrying him.

No, I think you're quite right and your friend is sadly mistaken. The real marriage between a man and a woman is from God, not from the government.
Blessings to you!

No, she's not right. We all are immigrants. Read your history book.
