Online poker is thriving overseas and will continue to do so. But of course we saw how the Chinese effectively banned their population from using the Net.

No it is not. The bill that the congress was considering is years away from being passed. I think that there will never be a bill passed like that for one main reason, and that is money. The on-line poker industry has lots of money and lots of lawyers to fight any bill that is passed by the government. The on-line poker room spend lots of cash to lobby the senate so they won't pass such a bill. It's the same reason that the tobacco industry is still around, and that is a lot of money and power.
