What do you think about this war with Iraq?
I support it, and I'm not afraid that we are involved with it or that it will bring retaliation from al-qaeda.
Do you agree or disagree?
When you think about it, it's necessary, this war, because whether we're involved or not, radicals are always going to be after us: They hate our freedom of choice, of men openly being gay, and of women voting, working, and having a voice. So, war or not, they're coming after us. I think it's better to do something about it now, see it through, and get it done so that we can continue having a voice.

I wanted to add that there are a lot of muslim radicals - al-qaeda and a whole lot of other terrorist organizations - in and around Iraq, so keep that in mind.

I just can't agree with anyone's answers, or choose the right one, so I'll put this one up for voting.

Iraq had nothing to do with the radicals. Get that first. This was was a personal ego trip for Bush and his cronies leading to deaths for tens of thousands of Iraqis and thousands of US troops. The war was based on lies. Totally unnecessary war.

The war in Iraq is a mess. We've opened a can of worms.
When Hussein was in power he had the country under control. There were no terrorist attacks in Iraq. Now that we've invaded, there are terrorist attacks on a daily basis. And bin Laden isn't even in Iraq. He's in Afganistan or Pakistan.
Iraq didn't have anything to do with 9/11 or al Queda. And GW Bush recently said that in a press conference. We invaded Iraq because of the weapons of mass destruction that were never found. And if they were moved to another country like Syria, why didn't we invade that country as well? We didn't try very hard to find the WMDs.
Apparently, Bush doesn't have to provide any evidence to justify the invasion of Iraq, a sovreign country. We just have to have faith that he's doing the right thing.
These radicals just want us to leave them alone. They don't want us sticking our nose where it doesn't belong. And I agreee. We should mind our own business and worry about our own country. Remember, we have over one million people in prison. And about 50 million don't have healthcare in the US. Our borders are wide open. And our education system is poor compared to other developed nations.
What are we actually trying to do in Iraq?
When will we be done?

Unfortunately you are swept up in the propaganda. There is no link that The war in Iraq is in any way affiliated with Al-quaeda. Do you feel that we should go over to any small country and bully them because they do not agree with our beliefs and doctrine...and sacrifice the lives of our loved ones, and spend so many millions of our tax dollars? And at the same time do so little to help our own (like the horrible Katrina catastrophe). That is the main reason why America is disliked. The war in Iraq is basically about OIL. Are you prepared to volunteer to go over and give up your life for this cause?
The war on terrorism is a serious one indeed...and a better plan is needed to keep our country safe.

I think we have things here in the US that need to be taken care of, long before the war in Iraq. Here we have lost close to 3000 men and women over there, and the numbers of wounded is at 19,890. Phenomenal to me!
Think about that! 19,890 wounded, and we are closing VA hospitals EVERYDAY! So they go over there to fight for our country, and for OUR FREEDOM, with a promise that we will take care of them if need be, and so they come back home and have to be on a freaking waiting list to get in to see the doctor, because there are not enough VA hospitals. Why? Because they cut the funding! How many BILLIONS of dollars is this war? How many VA hospitals could remain open, on just a fraction of the cost of the war ? How many elderly people could get the medication that they need? How many homeless people could we house? How many schools could remain open?
Think about all that the next time you admit that you support this war.
By the way, have you lost anyone to this war? I bet you'd be singing a different tune if it was your son or daughter, brother or sister husband or wife, that lost their life to this ignorant war. And yet the one man who has actually brought harm to our land, Ossma Bin Laden, still run this earth, free as a bird.
I wonder how many people who voted for Bush, would vote for him again, if they had the choice? Thank GOD they don't!

well, im in the army right now....and for the first time in my life, i do not support our president. i feel hes gotten us involved in a never ending unwinnable war. as long as there is one american in the middle east, there will alway be three jihadist willing to die to kill that one american.
one of the things im always wondering about, is if i were president, i would have some of the most intellegent people in the world around me as advisors, so i assume that bush would do the same, im just wondering who these people are that are telling him that we can win over there....cause i just dont see it happening. if the people are unwilling to do something about it themselves, no amount of troops on our part is going to do anything about it, or turn the country into a thriving democracy.
