what if you had cancer or you were losing some vital organ, and you were close to being dead. can't we use organs from monkeys, since scientists found so much common traits between the human and monkeys genes that they believe they were the primary life? i'm serious, so don't start writing crap in here. if you want 2 points just type a letter and get over it. nobody needs your sarcastic comments.

I think they tried using the heart of some animal, I don't remember what it was back in the 90's. Seriously I think it was a pig??? Heck, I don't remember. Anyway, they've tried but I think it failed. The guy didn't live too long.

Maybe but it is difficult enough finding another human with a close enough genetic match; it seems unlikely that an ape, let alone a monkey, would be close enough. More promising, I would think, would be to find a way to regrow your own organs using your own genes.

As far as I know, the only animal to human transplantation done so far is skin and heart from pigs. But skin is temporary until the real human skin grows and heart transplant was very very temporary. With current technology, it appears artificial organs seems more promising than animal parts....

they have tried, with a heart some time ago from a pig. It was rejected. As for moneys being similar to us genetically, you have your facts wrong. But Ethically there is a problem...what gives us as humans, the right to kill an animal for its organs? we already kill them for food and clothes...i dont think it would be right and animal activists would go nuts

Monkeys are not of the same genetic structure as man. Therefore it is not possible for man to use there organs.

Organ rejection is the main problem. You body's defence mechanism is geared to reject foreign bodies to protect itself. Unless the organ match is very close, such as from relatives or suitable donors, your body will reject it. So getting from monkeys will be even more challenging.

They are finding - and I'm not sure if it's been implemented, that the closest match to us as organ donors in the animal kingdom are in fact the humble PIG. Can't think of any sarcasm to add. ;) No-one needs it anyways..;)
