That's pretty vague...Try Google and search for user tips suggestions for whatever hardware/software you're using. User forums are helpful. What are you more specifically looking for?

Dont get a virus. Delete history. Download legally. Use protection.
Defrag hard drive. Clean registry. Run msconfig. Work behind a router. Dont put stickers of you favorite band on the air vents.

if your more indulge in hardware (whether to troubleshoot standalone pc or network) its better to first know the specifics: like.... what's the os? is there error msg? what's anusual? when was the last time it runs smoothly? did they install anything before the problem occur? did they add any hardware before the problem occur...
Then start formulating your approaches.
