U.S. President George W. Bush called for "consequences to Iran's defiance," saying the "world now faces a grave threat from the radical regime in Iran."

"We must not allow Iran to develop a nuclear weapon," Bush said in a speech in Salt Lake City. He said Washington hoped for a diplomatic solution, but insisted "it is time for Iran to make a choice" whether to co-operate with the United Nations.

What does George mean by that ? Nuking Iran , sanctions?

If you search for Mr Bush's speeches on Iran for the last 6-7 years you see that he's been repeating the same words and threats and still begging Russia and China and in older days his European allies to do something about Iran. Mullahs of Iran have come to believe that these are all b.u.llshits and no one in the world is serious enough to do anything against them.

I tell you that you will hear the same words on the last day of Mr Bush's presidency and if he is followed by a republican that will be continued for 4 more years and if by a democrat it will stop.

The UN Security Council has reviewed the report from the Director General of the IAEA regarding whether Iran has established full and sustained suspension of all uranium enrichment and research activities. However, the UNSC will wait to consider possible actions until after the European Union's foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, meets with Ali Larijani, Iran's top nuclear negotiator, sometime in the middle of next week to seek a negotiated solution to the standoff over Tehran's refusal to freeze uranium enrichment.

The UNSC may take measures under Article 41 of Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations to persuade Iran to comply with Resolution 1696 and the requirements of the IAEA. The UNSC will use diplomatic and economic sanctions including a ban on missile and nuclear technology to Tehran; international refusal to grant entry visas to those involved in Iran’s nuclear program and a freeze of their assets as well as a ban on investment in the country. Don't count on Russia and China to block that sanction vote. But if they do, there are other alternatives

The plan is to control the oil that Russia and China will use in the future and that would be Iraq and Iran. Then you can keep the oil in the ground and the price will go up and money will be made and the U.S. will have a great reserve.

The idiot president of Iran just wants an audience. If the world community would simply ignore this nutbag, we would be much better off. He gets off and trying to make the West look like chumps.

We just need to ignore this little man and let the Israelis take care of business when the time comes.

If Bush tries to send troops to Iran his approval rating will drop into the single digits. Moreover, if he does send troops, I hope the people in the US finally get off their couches and get that guy out of office before things get any worse.

Bush is playing to his political base. It means whatever you think it means. These are code phrases. If you are inclined to think we should invade Iran, that's what it means. If you are inclined to think we should slap them with sanctions, that's what it means.
