There was some song in the summer of 2001 with Nate Dogg, and I don't know if the whole song was by him [i think so tho], but I know he sang the chorus...and i know the chorus started it out w/ him singing "I don't know...." and I only know the melody of the song not the actual words...does anyone know what I'm talking about?

As for that song... it probably Area Codes, or I Don't Wanna Know...
