Usually when someone says that to you they want you to act more mature. Or if you mean that in the actual meaning of the words it means having to have responsibility & go to work at least 40 hours a week in order to keep a roof over your head and food in your stomach, pay taxes, get headaches from said work and taxes along with so many other things too numerous to mention. It's really not all that great. I'd rather be 16 again and care free!!

easy one....my ex is 48 and still not grown up...he thinks he's Jimmy Page, gets boozed often, ignores his daughter, and believes he's Gods gift to women (my friends tell me I'm actually quite good looking) is what he wrote to me! He is self centered and unkind...prejudice to every race but his own (Swedish). Only in Sweden is everything done right!
Most of all, he is always blaming someone or something else for his life (me, my mom, his mom, his bosses and ex jobs, etc) and never takes responsibility for his own actions.

I thought I knew, but for some reason I don't seem to be staying with the plan.
Too much a kid at heart yet- going into middle age with a fight.

Mature enough to see the world for what it is and to handle the responsibilities necessary to survive responsibly on one's own.

It means making good decisions and taking responsibility for them and their outcomes. It means that you do not rely on others for your financial support. It means that you don't make excuses for yourself. It means living with honor and integrity.
