yeah to a certain extent you're right. They have their places in our lives..yet "Sucking the life force out of us" is the truth, it feels just exactly like that when the insensitivity and selfishness become apparent. But if one keeps in mind to be your own best friend first and keep a supportive group of females around at all times, and do not rely exclusively on any one esp a male for your happiness, it could still work out to havea good marriage with those limitations. We as woman had been set up to expect a fairy tale relationaship which even if it could exist would be boring and humiliating in the end. Do something good for yourself and don't allow the less than worthy ones into your life.

I think that you're watching the whole world from your own backyard. I'm sorry you had a lousy and hurtfull experience, but if you have a low self esteem, one of the main reasons is showing up when you look at a mirror.

You just have beat them at their own game, love your self more and more learn from your experience with them gain strength learn how to be selfish and and you will be ok, but I exactly know what your saying I have been burned a few times . ok, some one has just been thru a bad break up ??? ok, your reaction is very normal and healthy..... now comes the hard part..... accepting that life is NOT perfect, people are people and going on with life.... MEN are NOT the cause of our problems!! NEWS FLASH !! we women need to learn to love our selves , BEFORE even thinking about love in other places.... men can do to us women what we ALLOW them to do.... they take what we ALLOW them to take...... love is a beautiful gift, that should be given freely, but if we as women allow the men to take over that love, abuse it, treat it like dirt, then WE are to blame , NOT them...... setting boundries and limits should be a self given right to all beings......... sticking to those boundries and limits is hard, but not impossible........ not all men are but the careless ones are. i totally agree but they also our ray of sunshine. most men are fakes but others are sweet and mean what they say. they are the only joy most women have. so they put up with them.

No. My husband is a wonderful man who loves me and treats me with respect and consideration. He encourages me in my dreams and in fact has helped me to step out and try things I might otherwise have hesitated to do. He is always telling me he believes in me and admires my talents, skills, and abilities. He relies on my strengths in his areas of weakness as I rely on his in mine. He truly is my partner in life.

if a woman has strong self esteem about themselves then there is no way that a man can make them feel this way about themselves. thanks to my husband i have discovered who i am as a person and he makes me feel like the sexiest woman alive. sorry about the breakup
