I would say that I was sacked due to lack of skills for the particular job, that way it doesn't imply that you've done anything bad. But be careful, they may try and contact your old company to find out the truth.

Why were you fired? Was it your fault ?
Always best to tell the truth, because your previous employer has to fill out similar paperwork regarding the reason (check off either fired quit or still employed) and then they can submit paperwork to back up their reasoning.
Were you fired b/c you didn't have the skills to perform the job? The unemployment office will view that as no fault of your own.
IF you failed a drug test, then you can forget it--you will be disqualified for Unemployment.

tell them the truth.
BUT not the whole truth. If you were fired for having a bad attitued say " I really enjoyed my job, but apparently there were some ambiguous situations regarding key metrics, which led to an unfortunate event."

Honesty is always the best policy. The unemployment office will always call your previous employer to find out the truth. Even if you succeeded in fooling them, you will always live in fear of being found out. If you are found out, you will be blacklisted etc.........

That would depend entirely on the reason you were fired. Can't help you if I don't know what I'm working with.

There are only four reasons why you are let go from your job, be it temporary or permanent. They are as follows:
Assignment Ended;
Laid Off;
Resigned;
Terminated.
Pick one of those, and you're good to go.

the best policy is always to lie in this instance, make up some crazy story that your supervisor hated you or you caught him stealing something really juicy, why because people will prejudge you and condemn you for being fired... lie lie lie.

Tell them the truth because if you don't they'll find out. They actually call your employer, but they usually talk to you first.
