Yes, but its quite expensive to get the paint that last and the finishing is not too good.

If I may suggest, u can go to any digital large format print shop, and print any design u like or just simple color/pattern, then ask then to laminate it with gloss or matte clear sticker coating (thick one),

its more fun, cost efficient,, and u can change the design when u bored!

Happy designing! :)

You can paint anything you want. The question is, will it stick to the surface? On formica, I have never heard of a paint that will not peel off from formica. And new tops are relatively cheap.

Paints as a rule are soft and remain somewhat flexible so would not make a very good counter top surface. You can try an epoxy paint system that uses a hardener with it and sand and prep the Formica very well, very dull and clean. i don't think it will last and all your efforts will be wasted. You can laminate over them with out replacing them. Fairly simple to remove and laminate, then re install.

hiya shauna...

if the countertops you're considering to paint are in your kitchen, don't do it...yes, formica can be painted successfully, but by the time i came up with a system to prepare, prime and paint formica with a finish product that'd withstand hot cooking oil splatters, alcohol spills, incidental contact with boiling water - and be resistant to bleach, solvents and abrasive type cleansers - and impervious to germs and bacteria...and durable enough to survive the occasional use as a chopping block - in a non-yellowing finish that'd be u.s.d.a. approved for direct contact with food stuff...(whew)...trust me, it'll be cheaper and you'll be much happier if you just go ahead and have new laminate installed...

i hope this information is helpful...good luck
