a) Zidane / Barthez
What can I say? The man's a natural. He's born to play football.
Barthez is too eccentric and unreliable. I prefer to have Gregory Coupet between the sticks.

b) None / None.
I think the Italian team is great as a collective unit. I don't dislike anyone on it nor have any particular favourites on the current squad.

c) Oliver Kahn and Jens Lehmann / None.
Kahn and Lehmann are both top keepers and great leadership characters to have on your team. Germany's Gk position will be severly weakened when both of them retire.

a) France. My favorite is Zidane because Zidane is so good at soccer and my least favorite is Saha because he got a Yellow Card seconds from when he got sent in vs. Portugal.
b) Italy. My favorite is Pirlo because his penalties rarely don't make it to the back of the net and almost all his corners end up being goals for his team and my least favorite is Materazzi for saying that mean thing to Zidane.
c) Germany. My favorite is Ballack because he scored the most goals out of the current roster and my least favorite is Frings for doing that handball vs. Sweden on purpose.

Not easy.

Based on WC performance:

FAV
FRA1 Ribery - I didn't know him, he impressed me so much. In Spain match he was so far the key player, he ran so easily Pernia and sometimes Puyol. And he's young.
FRA2 Henry - World best tactical forward. Besides Togue match (Trezeguet was replacing Zidane, not eligible to play), he always carried all offensive plays on his shoulders. Great - as always.
FRA3 Zidane - He was worthy #1 if only he hadn't headbutted
FRA4 Vieira - He had a grey season in Juventus (tired for muscles illness, media said), in WC we saw again a star player. Key midfielder.

FAV
ITA1 Cannavaro - Simply outstanding. 690' played, lots of tackles (no 1 suffered!) and breaks, never sanctioned. Without Nesta.
ITA2 Buffon - Lot of saves, he collected an own goal and a penalty (crossbar-goal) in the final match. Czech, Germany, and France match were perfect.
ITA3 Grosso - As for Ribery, few knew him internationally before WC. Heavily criticized from media, Lippi was right. 'I can't believe it!' he said when scoring at Germany.
ITA4 ... quite all of them. I can't choose between Pirlo, Gattuso and Materazzi.... yes, he was impressive and Italy top scorer with 2 goals as Toni, but as for Zidane I need to under rate him.

FAV
GER1 Klose - Bow to him! Strong, powerful, quick, great shoot, great head shoot...
GER2 Lahm - Wing defender, a correct mix of Physio, Tech and Tactics skills. His rating was highly increased after WC.
GER3 Lehmann - Stunning on high balls and cross, good between posts. My best goalie after Buffon.
I haven't other picks. As for Italy, the whole team was impressive. I like Frings in stage1.

WORST
FRA - none. can't think Barthez was bad.
ITA - Totti - he wasn't fully recovered after broken leg in February. He take is chance with AUS penalty. I'm sure we will see him at top level again this season. He wasn't so bad, only SO FAR from his top level
Del Piero - once again, he was only average in a major tournament (maybe his last one). Lippi tried him but with lesser result. He take his chance with Germany goal (and all saw how much he was angry;-))). Again, not so bad, but far from his best.
GER - none, and the harshly criticized Klismann prove how worthy he was. Good Job!

After WC, I'm supporting:
Ribery - as above
Marchionni - I hope he could be in the game on 06 Sept. To describe him is easy: RIBERY'S TWIN --- yes I like a lot that kind of players, fast, unpredictable, skilled... If I was a coach, my dream would be to play with a pair of those players (i.e. they are well fitted) and a center forward as Adriano, Toni, Henry or Klose... FULL ENTERTAINMENT
Lahm - no 1 could replace Klose, but this defender is MIGHTY

And, out of FRA/ITA/GER, Maxi Rodriguez and Figo impressed me.
