Hey Susan,
I am going to echo what Lips says but in a more simplistic answer.
O.J. Simpson was found "Not Guilty"
He has yet to prove his innocence!

Yes. A declaration of "innocent" is a conclusive statement (or proof) that the person did not commit the crime, or was legally justified.
A finding of "not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt" means only that the prosecutor could not prove the case under the rules of law. There are a number of situations where a person has been guilty, and the jury believed them guilty, but still acquitted because the prosecutor had not met the burden of proof -- beyond a reasonable doubt.

Innocent would mean they didn't do the crime
Not Guilty means that a jury of their peers could not find them guilty of a crime. Whether they did it or not is up in the air. The jury just could not find them guilty with the evidence they had at hand.

Innocent means that you did not do the felony at all, feaseble free of all guilt. Not guilty means that there are not enough evidences against you, but there's a chance that you may have done what you were not suppose to.

Innocent means you're innocent. Not Guilty means that they just haven't found the evidence against you yet.

In my opinion, not guilty and innocent pretty much mean the same thing.

it's a synonym; it means the same thing. in a court of law you are presumed " not guilty until proven guilty'......no that doesn't sound right.....you are innocent until proven guilty.....now that sounds right.....once again all you idiots are wrong and I am correct. court has nothing to do with it. if you did it you are guilty. if you did not do it you are innocent. if you are found guilty in a court and you didn't do it you are innocent. if you are found guilty in a court and you didn't do it you are also guilty.

I think not guilty means they can't prove you did it,and innocent means you really didn't do it.

the presumption of innocence follows you throughout any criminal proceeding until which time you are found 'guilty' or "not guilty"........so you go into the proceeding with the innocence label, and if you are not convicted, you become "not guilty".
