Okay so I have bacterial vaginosis but cant afford the antibiotics that were perscribed, my bf has 7 amoxacillan pills, do you think they would work? I don't wanna waste my time or hurt my immune system if they won't help, I'll just save up for the others, but if they could work it would be a HUGE relief cause I am super duper low on cash.

Okay I won't take the amoxacillan, thanks for the info, I figured it would not make a difference! I will just have to bite the bullet and cough up the cash!

no, they won't help, and may add a yeast infection to your problem. call the local health dept. and ask if they have an STD testing service. explain the situation to them. they may be able to give you the drug you need. (probably flagyl)

No, actually the amoxicillin (penicillin) is the exact opposite of what you need. Amoxicillin might even aggravate your infection, causing a worse yeast infection. I have heard this repeatedly over the years from other women and gynecologists.
Also, seven pills will not be enough, even if they were right for you. People are usually prescribed antibiotics for 10 days, about 4 times a day.

No, the bacteria have probably become resistant to amox.
Besides, taking someone else's antibiotics is not a good idea. Incomplete prescriptions and taking antibiotics for no good reason have resulted in bacteria that are resistant to those medications. Only the human immune system can kill those bacteria.

Nope, it won't work at all, particularly because 7 isn't even a full course. The proper antibiotics aren't that expensive if you go to Wal-Mart or Costco. Save your cash or contact your local health district and see if they'll give you a dose.

No that amount of amox will not work for anything. 7 pills just isn't enough... I'm sorry to tell you that....
The treatment is either Flagyl or clindamycin.
The clindamycin is way way way cheaper than Flagyl....
Amox will not touch it.

Amoxicillin is a antibitoic used to fight bacteria. However,Amoxicillin may decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills. Use a second method of birth control while taking amoxicillin to protect against pregnancy.
