I would try some kind of carpet cleaner first. If that does not work you might try nail polish remover. I would try that on a spare piece of carpet or in a spot that is hidden just in case it damages the fabric.

JUST NAIL POLISH REMOVER OVER AND OVER RUBBING THE COLOR OUT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE WITH THE SLEEVES OF AN OLD SWEATSHIRT....THEN TRY A BIT OF TURPENTINE TO REMOVE THE REST OF THE PIGMENT OF THE COLOR ...USE CARPET SHAMPOO AND THEN THE STEAMER. IF THE CARPET IS WHITE AND YOUVE GOTTEN MOST OF THE COLOR OUT AND LET IT DRY.....PUT BABY PWDR ON THAT SPOT...OTHERWISE ANOTHER AREA RUG...OR A THROW PILLOW GOES ON THE FLOOR...BEEN THERE

first u get a knife, make sure its sharp enough, and then cut off the pice of carpet that has the stain. problem solved!!!!

NNOOOOOOOO!!!!! dont try nail polish remover!!!!!!! especially if ithas accetone!!! it'll burn a hole in ur carpet!!!!
