Internet Explorer is a wide open door to your system and full of errors. Try Firefox. It's much more secure and stable as well as fully customizable.

What's happening is that some part of your Internet Explorer program has become damaged. It may be the IE program itself or some add-on that you've installed in the past or recently. The first step would be to reinstall IE by going to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx and going through the install process. If it crashes and you can't reinstall you'd need to try and find a copy on CD. Windows install disks have it, and most ISP disks do too. If that doesn't work go through your add/remove programs and look for IE add-ons like search bars, and remove them. Quite often these extras get scrambled and crash your browser, and sometimes they are poorly written programs that you don't even want. If that doesn't work you can try restoring your PC to a day before you started having the problems, but you'd lose ALL work done since that day and the problem may come back. As an absolue last resort you can backup all your data on your PC and re-install Windows, but that's really overkill if this is the only problem you're having.

Latest Version of Internet Explorer is 7.If this is what ur using then please note that its still in deployment stage and all we have are release candidate (software which is going to be released is known as release candidate).
1) Check for any Add-on installed. If they are installed goto Tools -- Manage Add-ons..option and desable the third party addons.
2) Donot install any toolbars except yahoo and google. Because there will be some clash between the new browser and the toolbars so it may crash..but yahoo and google made their tool bars to work with the latest IE7.
3) If this is happening even after that..uninstall the IE7 and intall (if u like to) or just leave the current version so that when the microsoft ships the final IE7 u can install.
4) DONT SAY THAT ONLY INTERNET EXPLORER IS THE ONLY BROWSER THAT A PERSON CAN BROWSE FOR INTERNET....USE OTHER BROWSERS WHICH ARE FREE AND BETTER THAN IE.
Like mozilla firefox

You may need to reinstall IE. Still if it does not work, you may need to format your HD. This is a problem conflicting IE with some other programs which use a common dll file.
