Give wikipedia a try too. But just don't look at the JFK stuff - might be wrong still.

Look on a map of the United States. Those states south of Washington DC and also touching the Mississippi or east of it went with the South. Texas did, too. The Confederate capitol was Richmond. The northern capitol was Washington DC.

Look on Yahoo or Google, type in you topics Confederate states then, union states print out the list. Do the same for the capitals.

confederate ones are in the south

Its spelled "history". Look the states up on the Internet. And please use the spell check before you turn in your paper, or you will be graded down. Trust me on this.
