When gas prices go up, its because Bush controls gas prices! You curse him as if he has a lever on his desk that raises and lowers gas prices at his whim.
Now that gas prices have dropped 60 cents in two weeks, why is no one thanking President Bush??? Where is the praise??

Iraq is neither has the most oil of any country, nor are they the leading supplier of oil to America. Canada has the most oil of any country in the world, and Venezuela supplies the US with (i believe) about 60% of our oil.

Just so that the facts are straight we import about 60% of our total requirements; Canada supplies more oil to the US than any country in the world approx 18% of our crude imports comes from them, next is Mexico at 15%. The Arab states as a whole supply about 20%, with Saudi Arabia the largest at 12%. The USA is the largest supplier of oil to the US at about 40% of our total requirements, which if the people in my state (CA) weren't so dadgummed hypocritcal and the Senators who aren't from Alaska and probably have never visited but never the less are stiving to protect the animals of the Great North, would allow us to drill for oil we could push our own supply from 40% to well over 50% and close to 60%. To answer your question (and I am a huge supporter of our President) Bush only impacts the fed tax portion of the price of gas and even this is too much so he deserves neither blame nor praise. The reality is that this is cross-party issue and there are too many dollars at stake in the political arena for the oil companies to pick a party. Any of you who think that this is a 'Republican' situation need to go down to the gulf coast sometime, specifically the great state of La where the corruption is the worst and there is no question this is a Democrat state remember people of La / New Orleans 90% of politics are local. There is no correlation to the price of gas and the elections. What should concern us more is given that the oil companies have significant reserves why does an increase in the price of a barrel of oil on a Tuesday cause an increase at the pump by the following week when that oil will not be at the station for weeks. Lastly, why do we allow companies like Microsoft make obscene profits without so much as a whimper and yet we stomp up and down like children when the oil companies make large profits.
OK rant over.

Don't you think it is an astounding coincidence that the oil companies are suddenly lowering gas prices just before an election? Gee, I wonder why. They have only been robbing us blind for years and now when there is a chance their puppet in the White House might actually get reined in, maybe even illicit deals being investigated if the Democrats take Congress, they suddenly lower their prices. Actually, it does not take much imagination to figure out why.

Yer humorous. whilst Bush reverses the great tax cuts he's given to the wealthy through fact 2001, then taxes them some extra, he gets a nod of appreciation from me and he will nonetheless be the worst President in U.S. history. There are allot of people, alongside with myself, who do not supply a flying **** with regard to the DOW. lease, nutrition and gas save us occupied. If Bush's base is on the actual of the ladder, something individuals might desire to be underground.

I believe we will see prices slowly decline as election day nears. Gas prices still remain inflated. Praise? I do not give praise where it is not genuinely deserved.

Gas prices are still high in Cali. I would have to drive almost 10 miles to get regular gas that is $2.92. He will get his praise when he get the people of New Orleanes back home.
