Whats the easiest language to learn that employers would like for people to have. I probably will take the classes at a university, cause Im not a self learning with programming. I took a Comp Science class w/ Intro to VB 6.0 it was ok but I wasnt great at it.

C++, VB6, VB.NET and Java is what I have being seeing everywhere.

First of all it should be known in which field you want to get into whether as a developer or as a user.
If you are exposed to VB then it would be great if you can get expertise in MS Office which is a software which has value at both developer and user end. Yes!, if you can learn Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) you can be of great value to your employer or potential employer. Visual Basic (and its familiy languages as VBA) is an easy language to learn as it has roots in BASIC language (Beginnners All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code)

I think if you are not good at self-learning then you should be looking more at GUI based tools (like VB) that comes with help and rich resources to refer to. Apart from focusing on the front end solutions, if you care to pay little attention to the work flow with back end technologies it will help you in long run. I think you should also first make up your mind on which area/applications you are interested in and find out what are the widely used programming tools to develop that? That will give you an extra edge with the prospective employer. GOOD LUCK!

As the *easiest* language to learn you can select Java or VB.
BTW, you must not be "self-learning", it is preferably to be self-writing :-) Write as much as you are able physically -- and you'll become great programmer shortly.

OK actually Good languages are more but basically java and vb.net are used.
as you have concept of vb.net it is easy for you to learn vb.net.so learn vb.net.
there are many application and future in vb.net mostly it used for mobile application.and so more.

Em.I saw a lot of peoples like Java,It is really a good lauguage,But Ruby is being more and more popular.Take a few time to know it!

Java really suck IMO, I would learn PHP, as it is similar to C/C++.
Name me one good program that doesn't take forever to load that was made with Java?
