I am 100% behind you on that, and as well, it seems that you would want to see a doctor if it is necessary to have it because you never know what type of side effects you could suffer from using it or it being associated with any other medications you could possibly be taking.

First of all condoms and birth control are not 100% effective. And I think it is silly to assume that if the morning after pill becomes available over the counter that there will be more instances of unprotected sex. As a woman I also find that it is not women that are more likely to push their partner for unprotected sex, but rather men. It is a woman's right to choose what she does with her body and no one else's.

I don't want any kids. I don't know what this pill does - kill a fetus or prevent a fetus from happening??. But it is probably better than abortions.
But whether there is a pill like this or not available - I don't think it would actually change the sexual behavior of women. They are going to do what they will do no matter what. There are free birthcontrole pills available to the public and women still get abortions - Why? There are condoms and shots you can get...Why kill a child if you have all these other precautions?
That is why people will do what they will do no matter what is available or unavailable for them to use.

It does make it easy for girls to simply have unsafe sex and figure that taking the after morning pill will be there to take care of any "mistakes" and for sure if they had a "mistake" then they used no protection and could have gotten an STD. . So most probably we will be hearing that the % in STD's will be going up... But on the other hand, we need to remember, that these young girls will have this baby's and kill them when they are alive, throwing them in garbage cans, putting them in bags, and simply getting rid of them one way or another, instead of leaving the child infront of a church or police station. Either way, abortion is legal and if they do not use the pill, they will simply keep abortion., so really what is the difference? They are getting rid of it at an earlier stage. Nothing will stop these girls from killing their babies, whether a pill, abortion, a hanger, killing them, they will do what they have to do to get rid of it...

I can't believe those answers. Abortions happen every day, if it prevents one then it is a success. People have unprotected sex, and this rate has been consistant from the 70's until now, with a bit of a decrease in the late 80's and 90's (maybe AIDS). Accidents happen and so does unprotected drunk sex, all classes and ages. This pill doesn't abort it simply doesn't allow conception... I think it will reduce unwanted pregnancies by tons.

I think it would be a good idea, it may increase it or not, one thing wont increase the potential number of women doing it. Condoms did the same thing. I think if the pill was available over the counter there wouldnt be as many people getting abortions or just leaving their kids somewhere or not taking care of them.

2 motives: First, lack of understanding. some say the morning after tablet is an "abortion" tablet. that's not. Edit: you at the instant are not pregnant till the embryo implants itself interior the uterine wall. till then, that's purely a mass of cells dividing. you're taking the morning after tablet....the morning after intercourse. you haven't any longer any way of even understanding if sperm met egg. Your in basic terms with the intention that *if* it did, you heavily decrease the probabilities of implantation. in actuality, you purely speed up your era. that's not meant for use regularly. 2nd, because of the fact those comparable all human beings is probable against contraceptives of any sort, as they think of you do not have intercourse except your married and want toddlers. in actuality they might't decide a thank you to ideas their very own employer!

I disagree with the increase of unprotected sex because it doesn't keep you from diseases. It only keeps you from having an unwanted pregnancy. It is great for people who are raped and don't want to report it. I hate to think that happens but it does! I believe this is one of the greatest pills of all time! I'm glad it is now OTC.

i think it could definitly go either way, but i know if it would have been available 1 year ago i wouldnt be 21 years old with a baby, not that i would change anything now but i would move my son up about 5 years if I could. It gives girls that for many reasons werent on birth control, or in my case medicine interfered, another hope.

Mmmm... I have to disagree.
I am in a monogamous relationship and one time the condom broke. I used the morning after pill (Plan B) and it made me so sick for two days that every time we have sex we use a condom and regular monthly birth control so that I'll never have to go through that again. I believe that most women would never want to go through being that sick just for sex.
