Her blood, stool and urine cultures are all normal and this all started four days after her two month vaccines. We are very confused. What could be causing this?

Ok. Forget all the idiots that said why didn't you take the infant to the doctor because apparently you did in order to have her stool, urine,
and blood checked out. However. I would get a second opinion soon if not cleared. Sometimes when I took my daughter in it was too soon for it to show up in the tests and when I took her back the
tests than came back positive and they gave an antibiotic. Doctors
don't like to give antibiotics without good warrant. They are worried now days about antibiotic resistance almost at the cost of the health of the child. The 2 month vaccines could be a coincidence. My dauhter seemed to get sick after her shots also,
and we later found out it was just timing. The rash could be
excema which I learned and the diarhrea takes sometimes weeks
to get out of the system in little kids, however the fever is a sign of
infection. If the fever is still present I would definitely take your
baby in to be seen again. What do you call a low grade fever?
It used to be that normal was 98.6 and anything over that was a
fever, but now days I was told that is no longer true. anything
over 100.5 is now considered a fever. Just in case you didn't
know because I didn't. As far as cause. It could be viral but the
fact that its lingering makes me think bacterial which you need
an antibiotic for and when your child is under 1 everything is
ten-fold. Everything is much more serious for an infant. I would
call the Dotor's office and tell her what you told me and see if
she thinks you should come in. I bet she will tell you to come in again.

Diarrhea for over three weeks is chronic and a serious health condition. It sounds to me like a food allergy. If her doctor isn't doing anything about this, take her to a new one. You are more than welcome to fire an incompetent doctor. Make sure she stays hydrated by trying just plain water, or Pedialyte. She could very well have developed an allergy to her formula, if she's breast fed, maybe it's something that you're ingesting that isn't reacting well with her. (Have you started any new medications?) Either way, I would seek a second opinion as soon as possible. If you can keep fluids in her, and she's not overly uncomfortable, or suffering from a severe fever, you don't need to go to the ER. BUT make sure you call another pediatrician tomorrow and get her in tomorrow. DON'T take no for an answer. If no one can see her, then go to the ER. Good luck to you.

just keep taking her back to the doctor, or maybe try another doctor. the diareah alone can cause problems with dehydration never mind the rash lasting that long. I was told before that even a low grade fever lasting past a certain point can start to cause brain damage since the body temp is elevated over a long period of time. As bad as it sounds it is sort of like very slowly cooking the brain.

I seriously hope that hasn't started with your daughter yet because that would be horrible. Just keep asking them questions, someone must know the answer even if it means going through all the doctors in the phone book to get the answers you need.
I really hope you get this resolved and quickly.

All the best to you.

Sounds like your baby has a staph infection which is very serious. Diarrhea for three weeks is not good. You said you had her cultures done? Then why are you asking on here when you should get that little girl to a hospital. Shame on you. Nobody should have diarrhea for three weeks. Unless you are a new parent and don't realize that babies poop is kind of runny. Is she getting the right formula? You need to take her to the hospital and find a different pediatrician. Never let a baby go three weeks with diarrhea.

complicated to pinpoint some hypersensitive reactions -- it would nicely be something interior the surroundings, quite than your milk. only a theory, yet do you position on any fragrances? Perfumed deodorant? Face creams? each and every each and every now and then those can set off hypersensitive reactions. in the interim, keep on your doctor to get that professional reference pronto. a three-month previous doesn't have an excellent variety of reserves, and at this aspect in her life should be gaining weight and transforming into faster than at the different time in her life. So she doesn't opt to be dragged down through even if is causing this example. desire you come across a answer quickly. strong success to you.

Go back to the doctor, but to make easier for her till you get her there is gove her lukewarm baths for the fever and put cream on her rash like vaseline if it's dry and make sure she stays hydrated but honestly take her to the doc or even the er cuz they can run all kinds of tests all in one shot where you wouldn't have to wait a day or two for results or have to make differnt appts. Good luck

You should have read the papers they give you with the shots. It sounds like an allergic reaction from the shots. If it is then the baby will have the same reaction from the 4 and 6 month shots too so you need to let it's doctor know.

You need to take your baby to a doctor during office hours. It is extremely unlikely that this is caused by the vaccines, if that is what you are worried about. If she has a high fever, or she is losing weight or has signs of dehydration and you do not have access to a physician, take her to an emergency room. The diarrhea is the main thing to worry about, as it can lead to dehydration.

to all the rude answerer's: first off you jerks, this person obviously had the child looked at by a physician otherwise who would have done the cultures? second who are you to judge someones parenting skills based on one f*cking paragraph?
to the asker:
I'm sorry you're baby is ill and i hope the little darling gets well soon. perhaps it is early teething. teething can cause fever, fever can cause diarrhea and acidic urine in turn causing diaper rash. my son got first teeth at 3.5 months. it is certainly possible. good luck.

remember that a fever 101 and below is teething... teething can cause diarreha and some rashes on cheeks... however if it is over 101 it is an infection.... and something needs to be treated... keep that in mind.. and also it depends on what your taking her temp with... remember to add a degree when doing underarm... sometimes shots can cause fevers.... make sure to do extensive research on the reactions to those shots she had!!!!
